Spotlight of the Month: A Recipe for a Sumptuous Kitchen

You don’t need to be a “Top Chef” to enjoy this kitchen recently designed by SweisKloss. Light and airy, the space perfectly balances style and function.
The large center island, composed of Quartzite Zermatt by Marble Unlimited, is the focal point of the kitchen. The polished natural stone is durable and resistant to scratches and stains, and at the same time features subtle elegant veining. With a prep sink and plenty of countertop space, the homeowners can prepare meals at the island while entertaining and socializing with family and guests. The deep island affords room for seating. Inspired by Japanese lanterns, three small Resident’s Bloom pendant lights with frosted glass create a well-lit work area.
The ingredients to a culinary masterpiece: top of the line appliances including Subzero side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, Wolf six dual-stacked burners, convention microwave and a well-stocked pantry. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets and an appliance “garage” for easy access to frequently used small appliances provide plenty of storage space and help keep the kitchen organized. Sherwin-Wiliams’ Iron Ore paint on the lower cabinets and island inset elegantly compliment the classic wood paneling. The backsplashes feature Ann Sacks’ Made Frame by B Barry rectangular Blue Mist tiles with raised edges, which add texture and dimension.
Glass French doors seamlessly blend interior and exterior spaces allowing plenty of sunlight into the kitchen and easy access to the patio. The large window over the sink also provides additional light and brings the outdoors in.
Every detail in this kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to create a space that is stylish and practical, (almost) guaranteeing that every meal will be a success, or at least a joyful culinary experience.
