We are looking for an experienced Design Project Manager/Architect who can confidently lead projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that both design vision and construction realities align. This is a pivotal role that requires equal parts leadership, communication, and technical skill.
Your Role
- Own the Project Lifecycle – Manage projects from pre-design through construction administration, ensuring seamless transitions across all phases.
- Bridge Design and Build – Coordinate closely with our in-house interior design and construction teams to ensure cohesive execution from concept through completion.
- Client + Team Collaboration – Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors. Keep communication open, focused, and proactive.
- Balance Vision and Detail – Ensure design intent is preserved while managing technical accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Implement Fire-Resistant and Sustainable Practices – Integrate fire-resilient strategies and sustainable systems into every design decision.
- Mentor and Motivate – Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff across architectural and design disciplines.
- Leverage Design Technology – Use BIM tools (preferably ArchiCAD) to lead documentation and coordination, and support an efficient design + construct workflow.

What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in architecture or design-build, preferably with custom residential and light commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and detailing.
- Experience leading teams, managing vendors and consultants, and driving project timelines and budgets.
- Familiarity with fire-resistant design strategies and building codes (or a strong desire to learn and lead in this area).
- Proficiency in ArchiCAD (preferred), or strong skills in other BIM/3D software.
- Clear and confident communication skills—with clients, team members, and construction partners.
- Degree in Architecture; licensure is a plus.

- Licensed Architect (preferred).
- 15+ years of professional experience, including high-end custom residential and light commercial work.

A successful project manager will support the on-site team in facilitating the completion of projects safely, on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of the client. The job is accomplished primarily from within the office; periodic job site visits are required.
Job Duties:
- Collect and organize all project documentation
- Serve as point of contact for project site superintendent, design professionals, clients, subcontractors and vendors. Return all communications within 24 hours
- Manage project bidding process: prepare the RFP, vet and solicit potential subcontractors, arrange job walks, document and review bids for accuracy and completeness
- Create the project estimate and budget and prepare client contracts
- Contract all approved subcontractors, review subcontractor invoices and change orders, and continuously reconcile contracts
- Establish and maintain project construction schedule on a weekly basis in cooperation with the site superintendent
- Make all project purchases; schedule and track all deliveries
- Schedule agency inspections
- Monitor expenses and maintain budget throughout project. Submit invoices and receipts timely to Billing Manager for client billing
- Communicate regularly with clients on project progress, change orders and potential cost changes or schedule changes
- Prepare written progress reports, with photos, on a weekly basis for team members and clients
- Prepare and run the weekly project team meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum BA/BS in construction, architecture, engineering or a related field preferred but not required
- 5 years industry experience preferred
- Ability to read drawings and specifications, and to produce accurate plan take-offs required
- Experience with high end custom residential projects is a must
- Must have excellent organization skills and be self-motivated
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have excellent follow up skills with all parties to a project
- Have experience working directly with clients, vendors, and design professional team members
